The Leona-Brenda Cancer Awareness Charm
1' Silver Charm w/24" Black Chain codename:
the LBC $10
October 2013 Totals: $410 has been donated to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Thank you for making the first month a Great Start for a cure... But the Battle Continue!!!
This Cause started back in November 2011. One week after I became President and less than a month after losing my brother (Kevin Siplin 10/14/11) our club lost a dear, beautiful soul… On 11/08/11, just one month after losing AL Davis…
LEONA LeDUC lost her fight with Cervical Cancer. She was just 31 years old beautiful mother of 6 (Damon, Brandon, Isaiah, Laverne, Devyon & Lilyauna (she died 02/07/11-still born). Our members attended her funeral and I promised her family to keep her memory alive… I FAILED. I focused on the people I’ve lost and the rebuilding of the club, she was and still is always in my Heart. I didn’t put more into this cause.
On July 25, 2013 our club suffered the lost of another beautiful soul… BRENDA VILLA-wife of Frank Villa (Raider Rich Villa brother) to Liver Cancer. Northwest Raiders now has a CAUSE. Not just to wear pink and about Breast in October but to honor and remember these young ladies to all that past away or have survived any form of Cancer. So we created…
THE NORTHWEST LEONA-BRENDA CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN.
It will start Sunday, October 6, 2013 (Leona’s Birthday). We have put together the Leona-Brenda Charm aka the LBC, which is a 1” Silver Cancer Ribbon hung on a 24” black chain… Why silver & black?
RAIDERS… ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!!!
The donation is $10 per LBC, with the proceeds going to
Seattle Cancer Care Alliance
in Leona LeDuc & Brenda Villa names. As I shared my plans with members and friends I’ve heard similar stories of lose and courage. It touches all of us in some way and is worthy to be a cause year round. If you have a story to share with us please send it to NWRBC.com though our comment section. I will set up a page to post your stories to encourage others to our cause.
You don’t have to be a member or a Raider to help… JUST BE YOU!!!
On behalf of the Northwest Raiders Booster Club I thank you for your time and Go Raiders… All Day, Every Day
-Raider D, President of the Northwest Raiders
